Image standards
MP04 image policy
MP04 uses images to help readers recognise destinations and understand nearby routes. A photograph is presented as a destination image only when its subject and reuse rights can be checked.
Sources and licences
Credited photographs currently come from Wikimedia Commons and original Flickr source pages carrying a recorded Creative Commons, CC0 or public-domain status. Exact-location previews use OpenStreetMap data under the ODbL. The original source remains linked beside every visual so readers can review its creator, licence and source history.
Images marked CC BY-NC are used only while MP04 operates as a non-commercial information guide. They must be removed or replaced before any advertising, paid placement or other commercial use is introduced.
Images visible on Google Search or Google Maps are not treated as automatically free to reuse. MP04 will publish owner-supplied or official venue images only after the sender confirms that they control the image or have permission to provide it.
Accurate labelling
When an exact reusable venue photograph is unavailable, the listing uses a labelled map of the verified location rather than an unrelated building or generic venue photograph. Nearby and regional photographs remain explicitly labelled and are never represented as photos of the venue itself.
Optimization and accessibility
Images are resized and delivered in efficient web formats where practical. Alternative text describes the visible subject for screen-reader users and search engines; it is not filled with repeated keywords.
Corrections and removal
A creator, rights holder, venue representative or pictured person can request a credit correction or removal. Include the image title, page URL, your relationship to the work and the change requested.
Email an image request. MP04 will review the source record and remove or correct disputed material when appropriate.
