Upper Lake

Lakes, a beautiful place to visit but for many of us, they are like a lifeline, a freshwater source and for some historians and philosophers, they are like mystery, the mystery of love stories, the mystery of treasures, the mystery of panic or hauntedness. Bhopal is known for 2 big things one Raja Bhoj and the other one is for lakes. Yes, there are several man-made and natural lakes present in Bhopal. Currently, some of them dried but many of them are still and can be observed. There are presently 14 lakes can be seen in several parts of Bhopal and near Bhopal which now comes under Bhopal only. The biggest lake is named Upper lake which spread its area from Bhopal to Sehore and it covers about 36 sq km. The Upper Lake has some qualities which can't be found in any other lake in the country i.e. its the biggest man-made lake present currently in the country, which was built in the duration of Raja Bhoj. It is often said that the main territory of Bhoj-The King is near this lake only because none of the citizens can live without water and Bhoj worked in this field a lot and efforted well to avail the water to his state and make his citizens satisfied. People also said about the lost treasure of Bhoj which is thought to be hidden in the Upper Lake. Apart from philosophy, many water sports lover finds this lake good for sporting like for boating, motor boating, surfing etc. Several more lakes are present in Bhopal like- Lower Lake, Shahpura Lake, Motia Talab, Nawab Siddique Hasan Khan Talab, Munshi Hussain Khan Talab, Lendiya Talab, Sarangaria Lake, Jawahar Baal Udhyaan Lake, Manit Lake, Bordi kalan Preet Nagar Lake Nariyalkheda Golf course Lake Mullah Sarovar Some at Bagmughalia and Barkheda but dried. It seems these much examples fairly satisfy the second name of Bhopal as "The City of Lakes" at all these venues the scene which comes up is just phenomenal. It was a must visit scene for all of them who visits Bhopal. At the Upper Lake, the beautiful scene is supported by an extra man-made touch with the warm welcome of you in Bhopal with gigantic alphabets surrounded with red LED light as "welcome to the city of lakes" just similar AS Hollywood written in America. The breeze flows at all these venues during morning and evening both of which transfers the calmness and awesomeness from Mother Nature. Popular and tastiest food can be found near these locations to garnish those beautiful moments created by the venue. The availability of transportation is way better and affordable to become an eye-witness of that unexplained views. ones truly said - "without lakes Bhopal is nothing, and without Bhopal lakes are nothing".
