Bhopal is known to be the sixteenth largest city in India which is the capital of Madhya Pradesh state. It is popularly known as the city of lakes as it contains many man-made and natural lakes. Bhopal is at 231 st rank in the worlds largest cities. the whole of Bhopal city is divided into two parts old Bhopal city and new Bhopal city. This city falls under the category of Y class which is one of the classifications from other classes. This city contains both modern as well as rich history which makes it unique. The Bhopal name is derived from the king which use to rule over this area named Raja Bhoj so this city is named as Bhopal. This Bhopal city mainly consists of greenery and natural faunas, this is also known as the city of nature as it mostly covered with forests and natural habitat.
The Bhopal city is originally known as the city of nawabs as for a long period of time nawabs used to rule over Bhopal and before the era of nawabs Raja Bhoj use to rule over this place. The name is derived from Bhoj and a dam is constructed in the era of Raja Bhoj named 'pal' so earlier this place is known to be pronounced as Bhojpal but later it transformed into Bhopal. The main Bhopal city is a small village when there is a rule of the Gond kingdom but later on, when the Mughals conquered Bhopal Dost Mohammad Khan built the new city of Bhopal in the time of 1700s when the Aurangzeb died this area is converted to Berasia and later on the capital is termed as Bhopal.
At the time when British ruled over India, this Bhopal state is declared as a princely state where the Begum rule has been applied by the company, the four queen used to take care over this whole area. Shah Jahan Begum used to rule over the Bhopal for two periods. When the Begum rule is at its extinction the city then conquered by Hamidullah Khan who ruled over Bhopal till 1947. Then after independence, many Chief Ministers use to take the responsibility of this state Madhya Pradesh and the capital is constant from 1947 i.e. Bhopal.

The climate of Bhopal is constant throughout the year as it falls on the tropic of cancer so the seasonal changes are minimum and the variation in temperature was not so vast. In summers the temperature rises a little bit high as it is on the global partition line i.e. tropic of cancer. In winters the temperature hardly falls below 10-degree Celsius which is quite easy for the visitors who visit here from the low-temperature region. There are majorly 2 railway stations which provide the facility to connect to any other state or any other city in the country directly, they are named as Bhopal main station and Habibganj. An airport is set up in the recent decades named as Raja Bhoj International airport which connects major cities and countries in less interval of time. there is 2 bus stands provided named as Nadra bus stand in old Bhopal and Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) which is near Habibganj railway station Bhopal which is in new Bhopal. The transportation is pretty much easier, simpler and cheaper in terms of other cities. Some of the nearer stations also provided which is mounted on the outskirts of the Bhopal city named as Misrod station, Bairagarh, Mandideep, Sukhi-Sewaiyaan, these stations are also connected from the city, at some distance, one can also reach Bhopal from these edge stations by travelling some distance by bus, cab, etc.
Metro project in the city is under progress and BRTS - Bus Rapid Transit System facility has been provided by the government of Madhya Pradesh.
