BHOJ is not just a name it is an emotion to Bhopali's and one of the synonym for wealth. Raja Bhoj used to be the finest ruler for central India and he ruled over Bhopal more than a millennium ago, a statue was recently installed in Bhopal near the VIP Road on the waves of the upper lake. The statue is nearly 32 feet (roughly 10mts) above the base level. The statue was covered with the multicolored LED lights which provides a sterling touch to that gigantic statue of Bhoj. Statue looks like reddish brown indicates the material of the statue which is a pure gun and bell metal, this statue installed in 2011 by the MP government (BJP) is a great tribute to the king Bhoj and to the Parmar dynasty as well. Sunset provides an extra touch to that beautiful statue with huge writing on the other side of the upper lake as "WELCOME TO THE CITY OF LAKES" with a red frequency light. The view is just phenomenal after 7 pm. citizens used to go there early in the morning to intake the fresh air and to refresh themselves with a morning walk. this city was named after him only, earlier it was Bhojpal and later it renamed as Bhopal. Another benefit of this statue was to make people vigilant about conservation of natural resources, places and to be conscious about pollution. Now citizens are conscious of their environment as it is now a well known and clean place in India. Another face of this project is to attract people and to make Bhopal a place for the tour and traveling as well, and it seems that this aspect has been cleared with flying colors as from different parts of the country people visit Bhopal to observe the rich history of our nation. The place provides an unexplained peace to the visitors and when the breeze flows in the evening and morning present unforgettable moments for the visitors. A must visit place for the guests and citizens who recites or visit Bhopal. How beautifully said that "visited Bhopal but not seen a single lake! I am sure you went to the wrong place".
