Lord Shiva, the other name for Destroyer (according to Hindi mythology) who is above all gods, reserves a special place in the Hindu Granthas and mythologies. He has the power to destroy anything which is other than Raw, that is the reason why Lord Shiva is philic to raw. King Bhoj who falls under the category of great rulers and known as the king of the kings was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and hence, he created an enormously huge Temple in his area known as Bhojeshwar Temple in Bhojpur. Which is established in the middle of 11th century. This Temple is situated 24 km's away from Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. The unique thing about this Temple is its Shivling. This Shivling is the world's largest Shivling which is created from a single piece of rock and the structure of Shivling was supported by a ramp of around 8 feet in height. The height of the Shivling is around 18 feet and 8 ft in its circumference. The Temple is constructed over a platform around 115 ft long 80 ft wide and 13 ft high, the whole Temple was constructed with Limestone blocks, the whole Temple is covered by four walls and supported by 4 pillars which are the backbone of this Temple. Many structures can be found on the wall carvings like elephants known as 'Gana' in Hindu Granthas. The strange thing about this Temple was its construction, the whole Temple was constructed in a single night and the Temple left unfinished just because the night was about to end. The reason behind this type of construction is in mystery yet. This Temple was constructed before the Islamic culture hits India. As soon as that construction night ends workers left the Temple's dome unfinished and it is assumed that this Temple's dome is one of the primitive dome structured buildings and from that time onward there is a custom to make a dome over the Hindu Temples. The whole Temple is surrounded by forest followed by the crossing of one river known as Betwa. The best season to visit this Temple is in monsoon season, as soon as monsoon hits the lower part of the M.P. the view of that place is just phenomenal, and the best time to visit this temple is the festival of Shiva - Maha Shivaratri. enormous crowd visits the Temple on this festival and captures the blessings from Lord Shiva.
